~Below you will find personal information about Ms. Burdick, the 7th grade math teacher.

I grew up on a small dairy farm in Alfred Station, NY and graduated from Alfred Almond Central School.  I have 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

I attended the College Agricultural and Life Sciences at Cornell University for two years before making the decision to teach middle school math.  I transferred to Cortland College where I earned my BS in Elementary and Early Secondary Education with a Concentration in Mathematics (Magna Cum Laude).  While there, I was a member of the varsity softball team and team captain my senior year.
I earned my MS Degree in Elementary Education from Alfred University.
I am certified to teach grades K-6 and 7-12 Mathematics.

I taught at Scio Central School in Scio, NY, for 11 years.  I taught sixth grade for 9 years and then helped create an elementary computer lab where I worked with students in grades K-10.  I also taught a couple of classes of high school math for those two years.
I coached JV basketball and softball for several years, and even added athletic director to my work schedule for a short time.
I left Scio to work for Democrat and Chronicle Newspaper in Rochester for about a year as a Newspaper in Education Coordinator.  I missed working with students and returned to the classroom.  I worked at Keshequa Central School(7th and 9th grade math) for a year before accepting the 8th grade math position at Wayland-Cohocton.  For many years, I also taught basic math and introductory algebra courses as Genesee Community College at the Dansville site.

I am starting my eleventh year at WCCS but will be teaching 7th grade math for the eight year.  This year, I am also teaching integrated algebra to the accelerated 8th grade students.

I volunteer my time working with many sports teams at Wayland-Cohocton.

I currently live in Dansville and spend a lot of time with my cat and working in the yard.  I enjoy hiking, reading, taking pictures, working on the computer, watching all kinds of sporting events, collecting cows, and being in school.
