Kelly Murray/Todd Campbell:  Mini observation process for teachers to promote increased conversations about instruction.  Roll out of the New Common Core Standards in each Elementary building for the next three months.  This will happen during faculty meetings and Thursday early dismissals.  Teachers were asked and gave back positive feedback about mini observations and rolling out of the common core.

Josh Petraitis, AIS teacher, shared the growth of the 4th grade students after Cohocton’s first five weeks of “Morning Math groups.” He shared answers students gave in response to questions asked:  What Did You Learn? What Did the Teachers Do? Would you like to do groups again? And Teacher Feedback. He also shared Pre and Post Test Data. Students increased correct responses on every question asked

Beth Russ:  Shared with us the Touch Math Program that Nancy Beaupre’ is piloting.  It is a multisensory program that utilizes auditory, visual and kinesthetic modalities; provides scaffolding and supplemental support of foundational math concepts and processes; plays a significant role in mathematical understanding; has been proven to fill in gaps for students who do not do well using traditional math programs; and been proven to raise math test scores.

Bill Whyte:  The Gunlocke Company has donated 15 chairs to the high school library.  We are very appreciative.

David Mastin:  2012-2013 Budget Revenue/Expenditure Comparison.

Michael Wetherbee:  Started the 2012-2013 budget process with a look at potential bussing changes for students in Grades 5-12.   He discussed the proposal of eliminating picking up students in grades 5-12 that live within 1-mile of the Wayland Campus. Students Pre-K thru 4th grade would still be bussed to and from school.  The School Board would need to adopt a resolution.  If approved by the School Board, it would need to be put up as a referendum to our District voters.
