 Reading & Teamwork: Coaching each other to success!

After reaching (and exceeding) our reading goal for “Read Across Cohocton” our students celebrated by working together as teams to see which grade could build the tallest Dr. Seuss hat out of snow.

That afternoon when they were walking to buses I asked a student “Did you have fun helping your team build?” He held up his “mitten-less” hands and said “No, I didn’t build. I forgot my mittens.” I then replied sadly, “Oh, since you forgot your mittens you couldn’t help your team?”

This student looked at me, extremely confused and said “No, Miss Becker! I could still help the team without my mittens…I just couldn’t build. So we decided…I would be the coach!”

Needless to say, the team with the “coach” built the tallest hat! This picture shows the teamwork that was put into building such masterpieces! Great job boys and girls!
