All about our NEW Art Teacher, Ms. Stieve

Having been inspired by my imagination to create visual worlds and stories to accompany these images I pursued a fine arts degree from Buffalo State College.   I began my teaching career 9 years ago in Buffalo NY where in 2006 I received my Masters in Art Education. 

This is my first year at Cohocton Elementary.  I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with such a wonderful group of boys and girls.  Everyday, when I walk into my classroom I’m thrilled with the amount of energy, creativity and eagerness to create.  I am excited to give the students of Cohocton Elementary the artistic foundation they need to allow their imagination to soar.

This Cohocton art year will be jam packed with skill building, material knowledge, artist connections and cross curriculum work.  We will be exploring Egypt, studying Native American art and talking about dinosaurs along with tons of other amazing topics.  Keep checking out our art site to see all the awesome art created by our Cohocton artists.

Cohocton Artists Celebrated
 for Youth Art Month!

The Geneseo Country Village & Museum has recognized Wayland-Cohocton art teachers and their students during their Youth Art Month!  From Cohocton, new art teacher Samantha Stieve and some of her students were featured!

There was an Opening Reception on Sunday, March 7^th where beautiful artwork from our District was on display! Each child was recognized, received an invitation, a program and a special certificate for all of their hard work! Congratulations to Ms. Stieve and her students!
