nominated for their overall contribution to the school community.
Consideration is made based on students’ attitude, behavior, effort
and citizenship. By being nominated, students are eligible to be
featured on the Middle School Wall of Excellence displayed in the foyer. A random drawing
determines which nominee will be featured each month. |

Fifth Grade On the
Wall |

Matt Carey
Matt is currently a 5th grade student at Wayland-Cohocton
Middle School. Matt was nominated for the “Wall of Excellence” for
the following reasons:
Matt is a pleasure to have in the
classroom. He ishelpful to his peers and teachers. Matt volunteers
often during class discussions.
Matt collects baseball cards and is a member of the Ski Club,
basketball and indoor soccer teams. His favorite food is chicken
tenders and he likes music by Nickelback. Matt’s favorite teachers
are Mrs. Feinman and Mrs. Knapp and he likes Science and Social
Studies the best. The person that Matt looks up to is his dad,
because he always looks after him.

Morgan
Hoppough
Morgan is currently a 5th grade student at Wayland-Cohocton Middle
School. Morgan was nominated for the “Wall of Excellence” for the
following reasons:
Morgan has opened up and has blossomed into
a great role model for her peers. She is always prepared for class
and her homework is always complete and handed in on time. Morgan is
a respectful young lady and has a positive approach to her school.
Keep up the good work, Morgan!
Morgan likes to play with her dog, Bailey. She also likes to play
outside and ride on her dad’s tractor. Morgan’s favorite colors are
blue and green and her favorite animal is the wolf. Her favorite
teacher is Mr. Gravelle and her favorite subject is science, because
it is very interesting. The person that Morgan looks up to is her
mom, because she is always there for her.

Zack Mielke
Zack is currently a 6th grade student at Wayland-Cohocton Middle
School. Zack was nominated for the “Wall of Excellence” for the
following reasons:
Zack is an excellent role model. He works
hard and is polite, conscientious and respectful. Zack is truly a
peer to look up to.
Zack likes to play cards and listen to music. He likes grilled
cheese, music by Owl City and the color orange. Zack’s favorite
subjects are science and lunch and he likes all of his teachers. The
person that Zack looks up to is his mom, because she is doing very
well.

Cora Young
Cora is currently a 6th grade student at Wayland-Cohocton Middle
School. Cora was nominated for the “Wall of Excellence” for the
following reasons:
Cora is a positive, enthusiastic student
who comes to class ready to perform. She is a strong musician, ready
to help others when needed. Good job, Cora!
Cora loves sports, school, friends and family. She collects rocks
and sea shells. Cora is a member of the basketball, softball, indoor
and outdoor soccer teams. She is also a member of Tech TV and Page
Turners. Cora’s favorite color is purple and she likes to wear
sweatshirts and t-shirts. Her favorite food is ice-cream. Cora likes
all of her subjects and her favorite teacher is Madame Marsh. Cora
looks up to all of her coaches, because they always help her in
every way.

Tara
McLoud
Tara is currently a 7th grade student at Wayland-Cohocton Middle
School. Tara was nominated for the “Wall of Excellence” for the
following reasons:
Tara joined cheerleading and is really
showing the EAGLES’ Way by “Getting Involved”
Tara collects rocks and she likes cheerleading, playing games and
reading. She is a member of the Modified Cheerleading squad. Tara’s
favorite things are pizza, Disney clothing, Disney music, the color
blue and money. She likes all of her subjects and her favorite
teachers are Mrs. King, Mrs. Speers and Mrs. Newfang. The person
that Tara looks up to is Mrs. Mastin, because she is nice and funny.

CJ Kruchten
CJ is currently a 7th grade student at Wayland-Cohocton Middle
School. CJ was nominated for the “Wall of Excellence” for the
following reasons:
CJ set academic goals for himself, used
good strategies and was successful! I am proud of CJ’s initiative to
be responsible and to make healthy choices.
CJ likes to play baseball. He is a member of the baseball team. He
likes pizza, Heavy Metal music and the color green. His favorite
subjects are math, art, PE and Social Studies and his favorite
teacher is Mrs. Burdick. The person that CJ idolizes is Sully,
because he is in the band Godsmack and he plays the guitar.

Devon
Harris
Devon is currently an 8th grade student at Wayland-Cohocton Middle
School. Devon was nominated for the “Wall of Excellence” for the
following reasons:
Devon is earnest and motivated in math
class. He is always kind, considerate and gets involved with his
teachers and peers..
Devon likes to hang out with his friends and stay active. He is a
member of the football, basketball and track teams and also sings in
the chorus. Some of his favorite things are the color red, football
and his Xbox. Devon likes all of his teachers and his favorite
subjects are math and social studies. The people that Devon look up
to are his parents because they are always there for him and tell
him what is right and wrong.

Brooker Courtney is
currently an 8th grade student at Wayland-Cohocton Middle School.
Courtney was nominated for the “Wall of Excellence” for the
following reasons:
Courtney is a caring and conscientious
young lady. She is thoughtful of others and is helpful to her peers
and teachers. Courtney always completes her work and is cooperative
and kind.
Courtney likes to hang out with her friends. She also likes to go to
different places and see different and new things. Courtney’s
favorite food is pizza and she likes to listen to all kinds of
music. Her favorite teachers are Mrs. Carey and Mrs. Acomb and she
likes art and social studies the best. The person that Courtney
looks up to is her dad, because he is always there for her and she
can tell him anything.
