In a special ceremony on Saturday, October 6, members of the community dedicated and renamed the Cohocton Sports Complex, the Ellsworth “Ozzie” Tripp Sports Complex. This honor was bestowed on Coach Tripp and his family to pay respect to the countless hours of commitment in providing a safe environment for children to thrive and prosper in a healthy environment. In his usual humble manner, he generously shared the recognition with his wife, two sons and countless friends and co-volunteers who have made the facility a possibility, a reality and a shining example of what the small-town spirit can accomplishment. The Saturday-night ceremony appropriately happened on the soccer fields with Mother Nature holding off her nasty weather until the celebrations were complete. Home and visitor teams alike were joined by friends and family, the community, former athletes and the numerous other individuals that have known the generosity of Coach Tripp. Thank you Coach Tripp for serving as a role model to our youth and community.
