What is a Good Citizen?

By:  Austin Hamilton

Teacher:  Mrs. Frick

A good citizen always does the right thing. A good citizen is someone who is responsible and respectful. A good citizen is responsible for their actions and their anger. A good citizen is respectful by treating them with the same amount you get. A good citizen is always honest. A good citizen is honest by telling the truth if you did something bad. A good citizen should never ever judge somebody of their color.

A good citizen should respect their community. A good citizen should help the community by picking up garbage. A good citizen should help raise money for the poor. A good citizen should donate a gift to the giving tree. A good citizen should help others. A good citizen should help someone if they drop their books.

A good citizen would never litter, disrespect others or judge people of their color. A good citizen would never lie, hurt others, scribble on others desks, yell at somebody or steal from stories.  A good citizen should always do the right thing no matter what.

A good citizen lives by the golden rule. A good citizen is civic-minded. An example is if you see garbage on the ground you should pick it up and throw it away.  Another example is if you see someone throw a can on the ground you should recycle it. A good citizen has good manners. An example is if someone is in your way, you say excuse me. Another attribute of a citizen is being responsible. An example of being responsible is to do your chores without complaining. A good citizen is also helpful. An example is if you see that someone needs help you should help them. Like when someone needs help with Math. Another characteristic of a good citizen is to treat others the way you want to be treated. An example is if there is a person bothering you, and then you should ask them politely to please stop. That is what a good citizen is.

A good citizen is a person who is responsible. For example, Kayden is a very responsible person for putting up my chair every day. Another thing that a good citizen needs to use is good manners.  My friend Jasmine uses good manners to me about everything we don’t’ agree with. Good citizens also have to be very kind. My friend Ceairra is kind to me in very many ways. She will help me find the things that I need and I like her. Good citizens need to have respect for others. My friend MicKenzie is very respectful to me. She helps me by saying kind words to me when I do something wrong. This is a big one-they have to cooperate! Every good citizen has to cooperate in school, at home, and even at the doctor’s office! That is what a good citizen is!!

Every good citizen has some special qualities. A good citizen is respectful. This person is kind and sympathetic to others. This person treats others the way the want to be treated. Another quality for a good citizen is being civil-minded. Civil-minded means that people donate their time. My mom goes for eight hours to Russell’s house to take care of him because he is very ole. Also a good citizen is respectful. Like when you go to school and you are running when you are not allowed, the safety patrol will tell you to stop. Now if you don’t stop they will write you up and you will have to go see the principal. Respectful means to treat others with respect. One last thing respectful means is you use good manners around people. Also responsible is important. Responsible means to have self control. Like I am not going to go in the hall and bounce off the wall. I am going to walk in a line.
