“We are the sum total of all of our experiences.  In educating the whole child, our working together will maximize our efforts to build a firm foundation and to empower our students to be able to create the future.”

Rebecca Wager, Director of Curriculum

Mrs. Wager has joined the Wayland-Cohocton Central School District once again.  Her career in education began when she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education from Ashland University and taught Middle School Health at Wayland-Cohocton.  For six years she has served as a Specialist for the Student Support Services Center at the Genesee Valley BOCES.  Mrs. Wager has also earned a Master’s Degree in Education and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from SUNY Brockport.

“With four years teaching experience at Wayland-Cohocton Central School, I know first-hand that the district is an educational leader, educating all students to attain high levels of academic performance and creative problem solving skills while promoting positive growth in self-image, social skills and behavior.  I am honored by the opportunity to return to the Wayland-Cohocton Central School District as the Director of Curriculum, as there are many wonderful initiatives happening within the District.”

The Director of Curriculum’s main responsibility is to ensure the continued improvement of the instructional program of the Wayland-Cohocton Central School District.  As Director of Curriculum, I will be a researcher in the area of school change, connecting theory to practice and enhancing supportive learning environments to have an impact on academic achievement.  I will be working together with the entire school community in order to align our program to ensure that we assess and improve our instructional program to continue to build student success.

“I welcome the opportunity to develop relationships and engage in dialogue with members of the school community to allow them to analyze the data, discover their goals and how I can help them achieve those goals.  I enjoy immersing myself within one school district in order to have an ongoing, long-term, and direct impact on the students, teachers, and community.”
