Michael Wetherbee, Wayland-Cohocton Superintendent of Schools

Mr. Wetherbee joined the Wayland-Cohocton Central School District in January 2006. His career in education began as a school psychologist at the Pavilion Central School District in 1996. He then served as the Director of Pupil Personnel Services for the next three years and finally as the Business Administrator of the that district for four years.

Spending time with his wife and two children, Mitchell and Sydney, is what Mr. Wetherbee looks forward to and cherishes the most. He has a number of personal interests outside of work to help fill his free time including riding motorcycle, golfing and running, all of which help to keep balance in his life and help to manage stress.

"My primary goal for our students is to provide each student the opportunities to achieve academic excellence," said Mr. Wetherbee. "This starts with enhancing early literacy levels for children when the first come to us. It concludes with the objective of increasing the number of students graduating with a Regents diploma that also pursue further educational opportunities."
