Family: Married to Kim Traphagen with two daughters currently at Wayland-Cohocton.

Community involvement: Volunteering on Technology Committee of Bath, WCCS and Wayland Free Library; Board of Advisors for NCMEC, 1999.

Statement: I have been supporting the community since 1997 when I assisted the Wayland Free Library in their effort to modernize and be one of the first libraries in the area to offer internet access to their patrons.

I continued my service in 1998 when I assisted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Rochester Branch, in their efforts to modernize computer-based systems to track children, and connect with other branches to have the ability to quickly share data concerning missing children. I then moved onto serving on the NCMEC advisory board for the years of 1999-2000.

Since 2002 I have been serving on the Technology Advisement committee at WCCS. I have recently joined the Shared Decision Making Committee. In an effort to continue my service to the community I feel that the next logical step for me is to proceed to the Wayland-Cohocton School District Board of Education.

I currently feel that the greatest challenge facing the Wayland-Cohocton Central School District is budgeting. With the significant increase in the cost of energy in the last several years, trying to produce a long term plan to reduce the amount spent on energy, while maintaining/increasing the level of education to our students and community.
