WC Class visits with Italian Emigrants

Recently, the high school Italian class met with people that had emigrated to the United States from Italy. The students heard their stories of moving hear and what it was like in their homeland. The speakers came from a variety of backgrounds including a salt mine worker from Sicily, a military policeman from Rome, a famous artists from Venice. All were emigrants to Rochester during their teenager years, as well as in their twenties and thirties. The students shared a typical Italian lunch with their hosts and enjoyed the conversation and learning experience. High school teacher Jeff Giordano accompanied them on their experience.
