ALL INSTRUMENTS

After warm-ups:

1.  Take out lesson book.  Go to new assigned page.

2.  Look at first new song:  notice key signature & time signature

Use 4 steps:

  1. Clap & RAP the rhythm notes

  2. Clap & say note names (in rhythm)

  3. Finger & say note names (in rhythm)

  4. MUSICIAN POSITION:  Play slowly

3.  After playing piece accurately in slower tempo, increase tempo gradually.

4.  If a certain measure gives you trouble, just practice that small part slowly,

then add it back to the piece.

PRACTICE SLOWLY and you will be more accurate.

Some say, "Practice Makes Perfect"...but with instruments,

"Perfect Practice Makes Perfect!"

When you take the 20 minutes to practice, make it worthwhile for yourself!
