Girls Basketball squads place wreathes at National Cemetery in Bath, NY

Members of the girls varsity and junior varsity basketball squads were among those placing wreathes on grave sites at the National Cemetery in Bath, NY. Saturday, December 17, two thousand wreathes were placed as part of the Wreathes Across America project, which places holiday wreathes on the graves of deceased American soldiers. The wreathes create a moving holiday expression fo the appreciation and sacrifice given by the men and women at the final resting places. The National Cemetery is located on grounds adjacent to the Bath Veteran's Administration complex in Bath.

Following their community service outside, the young women then went to the Steuben County Nursing Facility and wrapped presents for residents of that facility, followed by some fun Christmas caroling there as well.

The girls basketball program has made a point of participating in community service projects for a number of years and always manages to make it a wonderful holiday experience for those they serve and a team building experience for Golden Eagles.
