| | Criteria | Seniors who are planning to further his/her education and are either a daughter, |
| | granddaughter, great granddaughter, son, grandson or great grandson of a veteran of |
| | World War I or World War II, the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam War, Grenada/Lebanon, |
| | Panama or the Persian Gulf. Selection criteria: basis of need, character, Americanism, |
| | leadership and scholastic attainment. |
| | The candidate must submit four letters of recommendation including one from his/her |
| | principal or guidance counselor, one from his/her clergy of choice or other church affiliate |
| | and two from representative citizens, other than relatives, attesting to the candidate's |
| | character, industry, Americanism, leadership, and scholarship. A statement of applicant's |
| | volunteer work. Original article, written by applicant, consisting of no more than 500 words |
| | on a subject of his/her choice. Certification of acceptance and/or letter from the college |
| | stating date certification will be received from the school he/she plans to attend. |
