   Criteria       To a senior who has demonstrated a high level of active participation in Social Studies

                      during their high school career.

                      Applicants will be required to complete an application and submit a written essay not to

                      exceed 250 words where the student discusses their high school career and future plans and

                      goals. 

                     

                      Mr. Palmer relentlessly pursued the registering of our eligible students to vote.  Students

                      applying for this scholarship need to either submit proof of New York State Voter

                      Registration or complete the proper paperwork to be submitted along with the application

                      and essay.  New York State Voter Registration Forms are available in the SCO, the US Post

                      Office, any County Board of Elections or at www.elections.state.ny.us (click on voter

                      registration forms).  (Students who would be 17 at the time will have their registration

                      material posted to the appropriate voting registration address after their eighteenth

                      Up to four scholarships may be awarded to applicants pursuing adult education, such as an

                       executive program or agricultural leadership program.  A diversity scholarship is available.

   Criteria       Available to Seniors who reside in LIVINGSTON COUNTY only.    The Chamber of

                      Commerce will have up to four $2,000 awards.  Two of the scholarships will be funded in

                      part by the NY State Department of Labor JSEC, Genesee Valley Motors, the Livingston

                      County Chamber Agricultural Committee and LCEA will be awarded to vocational students

                      chosen primarily on the basis of a project or demonstration.  Vocational students should

                      contact the Genesee Valley BOCES C.G. May Center office at (658-7900) for application

                      and details.  Two scholarships, funded by LCEA, will be awarded to students chosen on the

                      basis of an essay of their choice on one of the subjects contained in the application.
