Criteria Deserving students who evidence the desire to continue on to higher education.

Scholarships range from $1,000 to $5,000. (Amount of actual awards depends on the

number of students who choose to participate and the quality of the essays submitted.)

A 200-500 word essay is required reflecting on your years at Wayland-Cohocton Central

School and your aspirations after graduation. Relate how your experiences at Wayland-

Cohocton have prepared you for your future.

***Please note that you will be reciting your essay in front of the Lauterbach Scholarship

Selection Committee. Audio or visual aides are not permitted. You are NOT required to

memorize your essay, you will be allowed to use a paper copy of your essay during your

recital to refer to.***

Criteria The Class of 1980 is looking to award ANY high school senior who is a kind, personable

student who genuinely cares about others. These characteristics are the ONLY

considersation required for this award. Rank, GPA or higher education plans are

unnecessary for consideration.

You are required to write a 500 word or less essay on the topic, "When I leave the halls of

WCCS what do I want to be remembered for?"
