The Wayland-Cohocton Elementary buildings are once again collecting can tabs for the Shriner’s Hospital in honor of Blayke Hoffman; who is a four year patient of Shriner’s Hospital. He has had well over 25 surgeries to help with his Sturge-Webber’s Syndrome and to lighten the port-wine stain that accompanies the syndrome.

This is our third year of collecting tabs. Over the years, we have collected over 1,000,000 tabs. The tabs help Shriner’s with the rising costs of providing medical care and equipment for their patients’ needs. These tabs can be found on drink cans, soup cans, animal food cans, and many other places.

In the main lobby of the Wayland Elementary building, you will now see a beautiful collection tower for the tabs. The tower was made possible by Andy Van Auken with wood donated by Don Rawleigh. The students can now watch their generosity grow! When the tower is full we will empty it and deliver the tabs to the Hoffman family for delivery to the Shriner’s Hospital.

We are excited to discover how many tabs it will take to fill the tower and how many times we can fill it this year! Please collect and bring in your tabs! Every tab counts!!
