Starred Ranked “Excellent” by National Council of Teachers of English
The Wayland-Cohocton literary magezine, Starred, which features students' work of photograhs, poems, short stories, and artwork, was designated by NCTE’s Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines as an “Excellent” for the 2011 edition. The magezine takes endless hours of work of dedicated students. In addition, the High School Art Department generously supplies Starred with students' artwork and photography. If you are interested in submitting your work to starred, save publications as a Word document and photos as JPEGs and submit your work into the Starred Submissions folder under Mr. Folts' teacher folder.

Letter from the Editor
Welcome to the Wingspan!
The Wingspan is the online newspaper for Wayland-Cohocton High School. The intention of this site is to keep you up to date with the latest information of the events occurring at our school. We are excited to welcome you to the brand new Wingspan website. Our ultimate goal is to make certain every student in our school is aware of what's happening in addition to the opportunities they are offered here at WCCS. We hope the end result will lead to more involvement of the students in our school. In addition to the main purpose of school, education, we beleive it is equally important to participate in activities other than the conventional routine we normally associate with school. School is so much more than just a place to take classes - it's a beginning journey of our careers as we learn basic knowledge and build essential skills.
The Wingspan is designed so that all students have a place to share news and give their own opinions. This is why a student newspaper is so unique. We hope you enjoy visiting this website and we hope it will help you as a student become more interested in your time here at Wayland-Cohocton.
Sincerely,
The Wingspan Staff
