Hello! We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our counseling staff to all Wayland-Cohocton Middle School parents/guardians. Our Middle School Counseling staff consist of Cora Saxton, Middle School Psychologist, Jean Antkowiak, Middle School Counselor and Marissa O’Neal, Middle School Social Worker. We are very excited to be here at the Wayland-Cohocton Middle School, and look forward to a fantastic school year together!
Some of our responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) mandated individual and group counseling along with building level services such as classroom intervention and social skills development when time allows. We also work with students on peer mediation, bully prevention, crisis intervention, career awareness and provide staff/student/parent support. Often a teacher will refer a student based on varying needs or concerns. However, parents/guardians are also welcome to give us a call if concerned about their child/children and we will do our best to provide support. In addition, if student/families are experiencing obstacles better served by outside resources, we are able to make those referrals. A formal consent letter for parents to look over and sign will be sent home for any students we meet with on a regular basis that are not mandated IEP students.
Our office hours at Wayland-Cohocton Middle School are Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. However, that is subject to change based on the week. We can be reached by phone at (585) 728-2551 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to servicing both the students and parents of the Wayland-Cohocton community and look forward to a productive and rewarding school year!
