Letter to the Community from Interim Superintendent Eileen Feinman

August 21, 2018

Dear Wayland-Cohocton Parents, Guardians and Community Members:

On behalf of the Wayland-Cohocton Board of Education and myself, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 2018-2019 school year. In a couple of weeks the buses will be rolling again and making their way throughout our community. It is the time of year where anticipation is high and we are all eager to begin a new school year.

In addition to welcoming you to a new school year, I am writing to inform you of some changes that will be in effect as we open school. At the Board of Education meeting last night, I was appointed as the Interim Superintendent to fill a voluntary leave of absence by Mr. Michael Wetherbee. Mr. Scott Manne will also assume considerable responsibilities at the high school level as we make this transition.

I am looking forward to this challenge and I am excited to be working with great people in our District K-12. Our goal remains the same…provide the best possible education for all students. Working together with you as partners and with the administration, teachers and support staff individuals that we have on board, there is no doubt in my mind that we will be successful.

With change… often times comes uncertainty. Please be assured that throughout this transition I will always make decisions that are in the best interest of students. If you have questions, thoughts or concerns, please feel free to reach out and contact me, (585-213-4303 or at my door is always open.

Enjoy the last few days of summer and accept my best wishes for a great school year.

Eileen M. Feinman
Interim Superintendent
