Girls Swimming races at 4th Duel in the Pool; $2700 raised

Wayland-Cohocton Girls Swimming participated in the Duel in the Pool event in Victory on September 21. The cooperative effort raised $2700 for The Green Angels, a 501c3 nonprofit organization collecting gently used items through the year as inventory to serve families in need.

The Finger Lakes Girls Swim League (FLL) and the Livingston Conference (LCAA)  have been participating for four years, with different organizations benefiting from the event. This year’ the FLAA covered the cost of the pool use and the lifeguard feels to make the event as successful as possible. The Livingston Conference has beaten the Finger Lakes two of the three times with last year’s event coming down to the final relay. This year the Livingston Conference won again with a total score of 1,219 points to Finger Lakes 951 points.

The event brings together athletes from the same conference, who normally are competing against one another, to compete as a team for the greater good.
