ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES FOR COVID ARE DIFFERENT - 

100% Remote Learning Families must complete attendance everyday at home

Hybrid Learning Families must complete attendance everyday at home (High School and Middle School students have form available through their Chromebook and Google classrooms. Elementary families can CLICK HERE)

School attendance is mandatory in New York State from the age of six (6) until the age of seventeen (17). By law, parents are held responsible for their child’s unexcused absences.

Excused Absences, Tardies and Early Departures

  • Personal illness

  • Illness or death in the family

  • Authorized visits to college

  • Course related job interviews, cooperative work programs and approved career exploration

  • Military obligations

  • Medical health clinic appointments

  • Religious observances

  • Required court appearances

  • Weather conditions or impassable roads that prevent travel

  • Reasons approved by the NYS Commissioner of Education or Board of Education

  • Quarantine

    • Approved curriculum related absences i.e., Band lessons, assemblies, SCO appts.

Unexcused Absences/Lateness:

Examples of unexcused absence or lateness to school include, but are not limited to:

  • Family vacation

  • Hunting

  • Babysitting

  • Haircut

  • Oversleeping

  • Missed bus

  • Private instruction
