The Dan-Way-Co Varsity Football Team hosts Batavia Friday 10/1 at the Cohocton Sports Complex in a big Class B showdown as we recognize our senior athletes and announce this year's Homecoming Court. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm and the game can be viewed on our Live Stream via the Wayland-Cohocton Athletic Department YouTube account via the link below. After the game, warm up around the bonfire!

On Saturday 10/2, our girls and boys soccer teams take to the pitch. JV Boys Soccer will kick off the day with a 5:00 game against Letchworth/Warsaw. At 7:00, both Varsity Girls and Boys teams look to earn victories of their own. The boys will face Letchworth/Warsaw and the girls take on Perry. Stop on down after the festival and cheer on our Eagles soccer teams!

Welcome to Wayland-Cohocton Athletics

by Robert Toland, Coordinator of Athletics, Fitness and Aquatics ext. 3192

My primary role as Coordinator of Athletics, Fitness, and Aquatics is to provide Wayland-Cohocton students and our surrounding community members with an exceptional experience, top-notch facilities, and promising opportunities through athletics.  I feel that my role is to build upon the great traditions in place at Wayland-Cohocton while also getting our students excited about making Wayland-Cohocton Athletics successful across all sports.

I have been with the Wayland-Cohocton District for 5 years, now entering my 6th year.  During the past 5 years, I worked in the Math Department primarily as the Algebra II teacher.  I have also taught several Math Lab classes, AIS Math, and Math 2 in The Academy.  In addition to teaching Math, I have also coached many teams across all 3 seasons.  I've coached Varsity Football as an assistant, JV Girls Basketball as the head coach, Varsity Girls Basketball as an assistant, JV Golf as the head coach, modified boys basketball as the head coach, and modified baseball as the head coach.

I am a 2009 graduate of St. John Fisher College.  I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Adolescent Education in the Field of Mathematics.  In 2016, I earned a Masters Degree in Education from Walden University.  I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University.

My goals for the fall are to get our sports teams back to "normal" and increase participation at all levels.  Sports were significantly impacted by the COVID pandemic and, to some degree, continue to be today.  It is my hope that students are eager to return to the fall months with a renewed passion for sports.  By increasing numbers and participation, our teams are more likely to experience successes and the joys that come with athletics.
