Save the date for the Wayland-Cohocton Drama Club's production of Elf-The Musical. Show times are December 8th and 9th at 7 p.m. with a special matinee performance on Sunday, December 10th - perfect for the entire family! Admission is $5 and available at the door. Performances are in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) on the Wayland campus.

Wayland-Cohocton Families are reminded that there is no student attendance on Monday and Tuesday, November 20th and 21st. Parent-Teacher conferences will be held. There is no school Wednesday - Friday, November 22nd -24th for Thanksgiving Recess.
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to WC PreK!
Informaton will come home regarding opportunities for students to purchase books. Also, the fair will be open during parent confernce times.

WCCS to Resume Activities: The campus is open for regularly scheduled activities. Coaches and advisors will reach out today regarding practice, games or activities. If you do not hear from them, please assume your activity is canceled.
Late last night, Wednesday, November 1st, the Wayland-Cohocton Central School District received notification of a threat made on social media. The district began working with the local law enforcement to investigate the threat. At this time the district and law enforcement have not been able to resolve the situation. Therefore, we are canceling all classes today on both campuses. This includes students who attend programs at other locations, including BOCES programs. The district and law enforcement will continue the investigation throughout the day, today, Thursday, November 2nd, 2023. We will update families with any new information.

The Board of Education will participate in a learning opportunity on Tuesday, October 10th prior to the regularly scheduled Board meeting. In order to accommodate this event, the meeting time for that meeting only will be moved to 6:30 p.m. The meeting will still be held in the LGI.
WELCOME BACK! The Wayland-Cohocton buses are rolling out onto the roads this morning for our first AM run on the first day of school of the 2023-2024 school year! Please be ready a few minutes early and remember that buses might also run a little later than normal the first few weeks of school. As you commute to work or are out and about, please watch for our buses and students walking to and from the campuses. Give yourself a few extra minutes for the morning commute. We are so excited about today and having students back for another year of learning! GO EAGLES!

Good Morning WCCS Families: Reminder that school supplies are provided by the district. Students need to have appropriate sneakers and clothing (HS& MS) for physical education and it is recomended that students have a backpack or bag to carry homework and other items to home and back. Please remember, that WCCS has qualified for free breakfast and lunch for all families. We look forward to seeing you at Open House on Tuesday, September 5th. Students' first day of school is Thursday, September 7th.
Wayland-Cohocton Elementary Families: If you haven't already done so - please turn in your transportation request forms if your child will be need pick-up/drop-off at a location other than your home. If you are the parent of an incoming kindergarten student and have not already done so, please register for Kinder Camp. This is an important opportunity to become familiar with Wayland-Cohocton Elementary School, kindergarten staff and teachers and expectations.
As part of the summer maintenance work at Wayland-Cohocton, the Field House parking lot is scheduled to be remilled the week of July 31st through August 4th. Weather permitting the parking lot should reopen on August 7th.
The community is asked to respect barricades and to use the alternative entrances that will be marked. The High School entrance adjacent to the fiberglass Eagle will be open for access to the weight room. Student athletes attending training sessions will receive specific information from their coaches on alternative plans and how to access the building. Any community programs accessing the soccer fields or tennis courts will need to park in the High School parking lot and walk to the fields on the grass or sidewalks, or park in the Elementary School parking lot near the playground.
The shipping and receiving area of the school (adjacent to the rear of the Field House, Greenhouse, Elementary and Middle School Cafeteria, will not be accessible. We ask that individuals not park there. Please do not drive across the school yards or fields in order to access areas that are otherwise accessed by the Field House parking lot.
