WC BOCES Families: The Mt. Morris BOCES May Center has been cleared as safe to enter and is open for students who may need to get any items they left behind during today’s evacuation. The building will be open until 3:30 p.m. for students who can get transportation to Mt. Morris. Students who are not able to get to the Center today, Friday, November 3rd, can pick up their items on Monday during their regular program time.

Attention WC BOCES Families: GV BOCES has sent the following message to its families: This morning while sorting through a container of donated tools, a metal cylindrical object was found in the box. Out of an abundance of caution the building was evacuated. Upon arrival authorities determined that further investigation was needed. The Mt. Morris May Center has canceled classes for the afternoon. Students are being picked up by buses from their districts. WC staff are currently working on the logistics to help students who were evacuated and transported back to WC get their personal belongings, which may have been left behind during the evacuation, subject to access to the building.

WCCS to Resume Activities: The campus is open for regularly scheduled activities. Coaches and advisors will reach out today regarding practice, games or activities. If you do not hear from them, please assume your activity is canceled.

Late last night, Wednesday, November 1st, the Wayland-Cohocton Central School District received notification of a threat made on social media. The district began working with the local law enforcement to investigate the threat. At this time the district and law enforcement have not been able to resolve the situation. Therefore, we are canceling all classes today on both campuses. This includes students who attend programs at other locations, including BOCES programs. The district and law enforcement will continue the investigation throughout the day, today, Thursday, November 2nd, 2023. We will update families with any new information.

Wayland-Cohocton School District is aware of the threat that has been made to the district and is working with local law enforcement regarding the situation. We will continue to update you as we have more information available. Thank you. (Wednesday, November 1, 2023 11:42 p.m.)
