Dear Wayland-Cohocton Families:

Wednesday, January 5th is a delayed arrival day for students. This time allows for professional development and meeting time for our faculty and staff. Due to shortage of transportation, we need to make some changes to the arrival times for students. These times are different from those originally posted on the school calendar. The changes are as follows:

High School and Middle School students will arrive at 10:30 a.m. If your child rides a bus to school, please adjust the departure time by about 3 hours. There will be no students (seniors) sent to BOCES in the morning and they can ride the second run into school at 11:30 a.m.  Afternoon BOCES (juniors) students will depart for BOCES at about 11:30 a.m.

The elementary school students will begin their day at 11:30 a.m. Arrival procedures for the morning will be the same if you bring your child to school. If your child rides a school bus, please alter your child’s pick-up time by about 2 1/2 hours.

Cohocton PreK 3 program will begin at noon and the PreK 4 Full Day program will begin at 11:45 a.m. PreK 4 students riding a bus should adjust their pick-up time by about 2 1/2 hours. There will be no half-day programs either in the morning or afternoon at Cohocton PreK School.

If you are participating in Test-to-Stay, the times for testing will be as follows in the LGI:

  • Wayland-Cohocton Elementary and PreK: 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.

  • Wayland-Cohocton Middle and High School: 7 to 7:30 a.m.

Because of the late arrival, there will be NO BREAKFAST served when students arrive, but lunch will be available.  If you have questions regarding program times please contact your child’s school building office.

  • Cohocton PreK School: (585) 384-5234

  • Wayland Elementary School: (585) 728-3547

  • Wayland-Cohocton Middle School: (585) 728-2551

  • Wayland-Cohocton High School: (585) 728-2366

We appreciate your patience as we make this adjustment to our program times.

Sincerely,

Wayland-Cohocton Central School Administration
