Wayland-Cohocton is pleased to announce that district families can now apply for free and reduced meals online. This easy process is secure and keeps your information confidential. There is no need to print and return any paperwork nor mail or deliver your application to the district.

“I am confident that MySchoolApps will make the application process easier and more convenient for families,” said Connie Hoffman, Wayland-Cohocton Food Services Manager. “I am hopeful that more families will apply and utilize the free meal service in our district.”

Using MySchoolApps is:

  • Convenient: Applying allows Wayland-Cohocton to process your application for meal benefits faster than ever before;

  • Secure: Your information is protected using the highest security standards in the industry.

  • Worry-Free: MySchoolApps walks you through the entire application process, ensuring it's complete and ready to submit.

To apply online go to: https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application . Or visit the Wayland-Cohocton website at www.wccsk12.org. Under MORE in the navigation bar, click on DINING SERVICES. Find the MySchoolApps under the LINKS column to the left of the page.

If you use the Wayland-Cohocton APP on your phone, go to the MENU button in the lower left corner and navigate to DOCUMENTS. At the bottom of the list you will find the link. This will enable you to work from your smartphone.

“We encourage all families to complete the application,” said Mrs. Hoffman. Completing the application and qualifying, regardless of whether or not your children will be eating at school impacts the school in various ways

  • If the number of Wayland-Cohocton families qualifying for free and reduced meals meets the necessary guidelines, it is possible that ALL Wayland-Cohocton students could receive free meals.

  • Free and Reduced Lunch Program qualifying rates can impact the district's eligibility for other educational and financial programs as well as impact State Aid rates.

Completing the application, even if you are not going to have your children purchase meals at school, provides benefits to our students and the District.  Even if your child is planning on packing a lunch, all families should complete the application as a way to have access to free or reduced meals later, should the need arise. For families, who don’t currently qualify, but may experience income changes during the school year, you may complete the application for free and reduced meals at any point during the year. If you have other concerns please contact Connie Hoffman at 585-213-4315  to discuss your application.

Wayland-Cohocton wants to insure its community members:

  1. Applications and all information are kept confidential. The Food Service Manager evaluates the application to determine if the family qualifies and only reports if the criteria has been met or not.

  2. Meals are served to children the same, regardless of how they are paying for their meals. When students pay for their meals, all students provide their student ID number only to the cashier.

  3. Students who are receiving free and reduced meals are still able to add funds to student meal accounts for extra items like ice cream and additional meal items.

If you have already submitted a paper application, you do not need to resubmit. This is simply another method of applying for the program.
