13 days and counting! Reminder to families that once again breakfast and lunch are free for all students. No paperwork is required, however the district does ask that families complete the information found in the back calendar in order to secure this program in future years. Even if you are packing meals for your child, completing and returning the paperwork is essential to keeping this program going for all WCCS families.

14 days until Eagles return to the Nest - Do you know how you are getting here? Parents, particularly those of PreK 4 and Kindergarten students, please make sure that your information is correct as the transportation department is going to run the bus schedules and the district needs to know who is getting picked up and where drop-offs are as well. This is particularly important for students who may be going to a childcare place. If you haven’t already done so, please reach out to the bus garage at (585) 728-2213.

15 days to go! Freshmen - remember to save the date for Freshmen Orientation on August 29th, 2024. If you have any questions, reach out to the high school.

After the weekend, fast forward the Eagle countdown to 16 days left before students return to school. Now is an excellent time to check those Chromebooks. Do you have your charger? Get them charged and make sure they are in good working order. If you have any issues, reach out to the Tech Team for assistance at techteam@wccsk12.org. They will help you resolve your issues before school starts so you can hit the ground running. If the Tech Team responds to your email to bring your Chromebook in, please remember, campus is open Monday through Thursday this week and Monday through Friday next week. When coming to campus you will need to go to a door where you can get buzzed in.

18 days left before school begins gives you plenty of time to get outside. Check out all of the free opportunities along the many trail systems and lakes in our region. Check out the Finger Lakes Trail System, the Genesee Valley Greenway, the Ontario Trail System just to name a few. You can check out all of these places by Googling them or downloading a free trails APP, you’ll be surprised by what is just outside your door and FREE!

19 days before school starts! Remember, school supplies are provided by the district and so your family can spend these final days of summer doing other things!

20 days of summer vacation left for Wayland-Cohocton students! Now is a great time to get some more summer reading completed! Remember, there are three public libraries in the school district with a wide array of titles and the ability to order books for you they don’t have. Have you been to the library lately?

21 and counting! Are your home and childcare provider addresses current so that when the buses start rolling, WC knows where to pick up and drop off your children? If not, please reach out to the transportation department as soon as possible. Correct information is vital for PreK4 through fourth grade students. Thank you!

Twenty-two days to go! School buildings are looking wonderful as the maintenance and cleaning staff have been so busy getting the facilities ready for students' return!

This weekend, Saturday, August 10th, is the annual Free Community Clothing Give-Away from 9 am to 2 pm at the Perkinsville Fire House!

School supplies for students have been purchased by Wayland-Cohocton Central School for the 2024-2025 school year. Families should plan to provide sneakers and an optional bag or backpack. 🦅🎒✏️

Summer Swimming Program for the afternoon of Wednesday, July 10th has been cancelled due to weather forecasts for the afternoon.

Good Afternoon. Due to a weather warning, all students and staff at Wayland-Cohocton have been moved to an interior safe place in the school building. There will be another text when we resume activities. (7/10)

Open Swim begins tomorrow and will run through August 15th from 3 to 5 pm. Cost $5 per visit. No prior registration required.

DON'T FORGET! Summer Enrichment Programs, Summer Swimming Programs and Summer Reading Programs begin tomorrow, Monday, July 8th. Also, free breakfast and lunch are available for kids 18 years and under on the Wayland Campus. Just show up at the designated times (see information emailed to families or check the school's website).

Tuesday, May 21st is an important date for our school district and others across New York State. Residents will vote on their local school budgets, boards of education members and other related propositions. The Wayland-Cohocton polls will be open from 10 am to 8 pm in the middle school gymnasium on the Wayland campus. Qualified voters are individuals who: are citizens of the United States; are 18 years of age or older; are residents of the school district for a period of thirty days immediately preceding the vote. We look forward to seeing you at the polls.
