Wayland-Cohocton Middle School celebrated the induction of new members into the National Junior Honor Society on Monday evening in the Performing Arts Center. The ceremony was conducted by school administrators and students. Accompanied by Principal Scott Manne, Lilyin Mellick (NJHS president), John Lander (NJHS vice-president), Naava Gibson (NJHS secretary), and Max Brown (NJHS treasurer) each outlined the selection criteria and the sought after member characteristics of scholarship, leadership, service, character and citizenship. Taylor Richardson (NJHS historian) reviewed the history of the chapter. Assistant Principal Wendi Snyder offered a farewell to those outgoing members followed by the induction of the new members. Advisors for the society are Ms. Shelby Webster and Ms. Cassie Willis.
