Good Afternoon. Due to the bus driver shortage today, Thursday, November 30th, Wayland-Cohocton will be combining two bus runs this afternoon. Families should be aware that students who ride bus #46 may be 20 to 30 minutes later than usual on both the 2:30 pm and the 3:30 pm runs. If there are any additional updates throughout the afternoon, the district will send another alert. Thank you.

Good Morning. Due to a driver shortage this morning, Thursday, November 30th at Wayland-Cohocton Central School changes have been made to a couple bus routes for both morning runs. Bus 46 will be running about 15 minutes early and bus 53 may be running about 15 minutes late. We apologize for this complication. Save the date for the Wayland-Cohocton Drama Club's production of Elf-The Musical. Show times are December 8th and 9th at 7 p.m. with a special matinee performance on Sunday, December 10th - perfect for the entire family! Admission is $5 and available at the door. Performances are in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) on the Wayland campus.

Wayland-Cohocton Families are reminded that there is no student attendance on Monday and Tuesday, November 20th and 21st. Parent-Teacher conferences will be held. There is no school Wednesday - Friday, November 22nd -24th for Thanksgiving Recess.
The Middle School Book Fair is coming!
The Scholastic Book Fair preview is Monday during the school day; select teachers have signed up to bring students during homebase and/or class at which time students can make purchases. Students may also pucrhase books during 13th period on November 13, 14, 16, and 17. The Fair will be open November 20 open from 8 am - 8 pm for parent-teacher conferences; and on November 21 open from 11:30 am-3:30 pm for PT conferences. For more info go to:

WCCS to Resume Activities: The campus is open for regularly scheduled activities. Coaches and advisors will reach out today regarding practice, games or activities. If you do not hear from them, please assume your activity is canceled.
Late last night, Wednesday, November 1st, the Wayland-Cohocton Central School District received notification of a threat made on social media. The district began working with the local law enforcement to investigate the threat. At this time the district and law enforcement have not been able to resolve the situation. Therefore, we are canceling all classes today on both campuses. This includes students who attend programs at other locations, including BOCES programs. The district and law enforcement will continue the investigation throughout the day, today, Thursday, November 2nd, 2023. We will update families with any new information.

Fifth and Sixth Graders attending the Pumpkin Patch Dance this month donated 162 pounds of food to the local food pantry in place of admission. Great job!

Good afternoon sports families! Registrations for JV and Varsity level winter sports are currently open. If you have a child interested in joining a winter team, now is the time to get them registered to participate. A full list of JV and Varsity sport offerings are listed in our athletics page along with the link to register. Remember, returning families should continue to use their former accounts for any new or existing athletes. We look forward to seeing the names fill our rosters soon! Go Eagles!
Attention winter sports families: It's time to start gearing up for registrations. We will be opening and closing registrations for the winter season based on start and end dates for teams involved.
At this time, registrations are currently open for Modified Girls Basketball and Modified Wrestling and will remain open until October 23rd.
Registrations for other teams (i.e. JV and Varsity) will be opening soon. Other modified teams have later seasons so their registration windows will open closer to their season start dates.

The Board of Education will participate in a learning opportunity on Tuesday, October 10th prior to the regularly scheduled Board meeting. In order to accommodate this event, the meeting time for that meeting only will be moved to 6:30 p.m. The meeting will still be held in the LGI.
Attention Wayland-Cohocton Mini Eaglette Volleyball families for students in grades 3-6. The paperwork sent home with your child earlier this week was incorrect. You can still sign up and play on Thursday. The paperwork and payment is not due until then. We are very sorry for the misinformation. Questions?
