
Due to a mechanical issue with the boiler system at Wayland-Cohocton, school is closed today, Friday, March 14. No staff or students should report.

Don’t forget about Kids’ Night Out on Saturday, March 15th from 4 to 8 pm. There are a number of fun activities, movies, swimming and concessions available. We are so proud of both ofa the teams! Keep reading! PageTurners members read from a list of selected books and then participate in a quiz-format competition about those books!


A reminder for families whose students are going to attend Kids’ Night Out (Grades 1-6): Please return the permission form to your child’s homeroom teacher or the office.The form was handed out in school by your child’s homeroom teacher and is due by Friday, March 7th. The organizers will try to group kids according to age and grade for planned activities and games. Groups will change every 60 minutes in the pool. (Please send a towel, suit and a bag for wet clothing with your child.)
PARENTS/GUARDIANS: All children must be checked in and marked for their safety at the beginning of the night. Drop off will be at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) entrance. In order to keep children safe and to have accountability, the adult dropping off and picking the child up must be the same person. Children should be picked up by 8 pm at the PAC entrance.

NOTICE: We are not responsible for lost or damaged items including cell phones. Please consider having your child keep their phone at home. We have access to phones and will contact you if any issues or emergencies arise. If there are discipline concerns, children will be removed from all activities and parents will be asked to pick up their child. A refund will not be issued.


Everyone, students and adult community members alike, are invited to the Wayland-Cohocton College, Career and Military Fair on Wednesday, March 5th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

The District will be hosting regular informal meetings and information sessions throughout the year at local libraries during the daytime hours. Bring your questions, or listen to information that will be presented by various individuals. Using technology, knowing where to find news and events, accessing programs and services and hearing stories about the great learning going on at Wayland-Cohocton! No sign-ups required! Just show up with your curiosity! The gathering will be held on Thursday, February 27th at 10:15 a.m. at the EJ Cottrell Memorial Library. Please join us.

WCCS Families: Due to weather conditions, Alpine skiing has been cancelled today. Therefore, the district is following the same recommendations and cancelling Snow Club this evening as well. All students will be dismissed as usual. Please call your child’s school building if you need to change their dismissal plans. No other changes have been made due to the weather.
