Wayland-Cohocton families are reminded that free breakfast and lunch is available to all students. Also, free meals can be ordered and picked up on days your child is at home. If you have questions, please contact the food service department for questions or fill out the form on the school's website.
Elementary Remote Learning Check in has been updated to include PreK. It can be found on the school's website at https://www.wccsk12.org/o/wes or at this link: https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/934343/Remote_Daily_Check-in_Links__Way-Co_ES___1_.pdf
What a great drop off this morning for our Cohort B students who had their first in-person day! Thank you to all of the families for making it go so smoothly!
Happy first day of school, elementary eagle families!
We are noticing that many off our families are off to a great start rocking the Remote Learning Daily Check-ins! Remember this attendance check in is for all students who are remote learning (100% Remote or Remote Days for Hybrid-Enrolled Students). When students are in person learning, we will take attendance using SchoolTool.
If you have multiple elementary students in your household who are in different grade levels, please be sure to use the appropriate grade level attendance link for each of your students. You should not submit all your students' attendance information using the same form. We need to have attendance reported on the correct grade level in order to effectively and efficiently make student attendance in our SchoolTool system.

Cohocton Elementary School will be monitoring PreK attendance and Wayland Elementary School will be monitoring K-4 attendance each school day.
Thank you so much for your help!

CORRECTON: KINDERGARTEN COHORT B STUDENTS CAN PICK UP SUPPLIES ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 FROM 1 TO 3 P.M. CHROMEBOOKS WILL BE ISSUED AT A LATER DATE DURING SCHOOL HOURS, DIRECTLY TO STUDENTS. GETTING SUPPLIES WILL PROVIDE THE NECESSARY MATERIALS FOR STUDENTS TO START INSTRUCTION AT HOME ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14.
Virtual Open House videos will be released on 9/10 - the date the open house was scheduled for. These will be prerecorded videos, not live meet and greets. Once the videos have been posted a message will be sent to families. Videos will be different depending on building level.

Parents: Children should have their own masks/face coverings for school. School will provide masks/face coverings if a child does not have one when they arrive. They will most likely be the disposable style. (This is a clarification as the district has received many inquiries.)
School supplies are being purchased by the school. Families need only to provide sneakers and maybe a backpack. Lockers will not be used in the upper levels for the first few weeks. If you have specific questions regarding supplies/lockers please contact your child's building office.
This morning an email was sent out to all elementary families that was intended for PreK families. K-4 Elementary families can ignore the email about PreK Programming. We are sorry for the mistake. We know there has been a great deal of communication to keep track of and we are sorry for adding to your inboxes unnecessarily.
Due to recent restrictions to Google Meet, the district is emailing a new link via Zoom for tonight’s virtual meeting for families regarding opening. The meeting officially begins at 8 p.m. However, families can begin logging in at 7:45 p.m. You will need to wait until you are “admitted”. We are sorry for the inconvenience. (WC families will receive the email.)
Typo in this morning's email to families- Registration is closed for the August 19 at 6 p.m. meeting (not July). Registration is now also closed for Monday, August 17th meeting at 6 p.m. Both meetings have reached capacity.
An email was sent out this morning to district families with a link for a virtual Family Information Meeting regarding the reopening of school.

Families are reminded that if you want your questions to be seen and answered when possible, particularly in regards to the reopening of school, it is best to ask them on the feeds from the news items posted to the districts five Facebook pages. We will do our best to get answers to your questions. Some answers are still being worked out.
If you've had trouble logging into the survey, please check again. We have adjusted some of the settings and hope it has resolved the issues. Today is the last day to submit your responses.
