
Wayland-Cohocton families are reminded that Monday, June 20th the campus will be closed in observance of the Juneteenth holiday (June 19th). There are no classes and office will be closed.

Wayland-Cohocton seniors will be taking part in the annual DWI Reenactment and Awareness event, part of which is off-campus. This is a closed event for the students only and we ask that community respect their experience and not attend, particularly during the reenactment scene. Thank you. We appreciate your cooperation.

Reminder to all Wayland-Cohocton Families: Wednesday, June 1 is NOT a delayed arrival Wednesday. Students will arrive and be dismissed at their normal times. Thank you.

Wayland-Cohocton School District residents are reminded today is the annual School Budget and Board Trustee Vote until 8 p.m. in the Middle School gymnasium on the Wayland campus. Please enter at the Performing Arts Center. You must be 18 years of age, a resident of the district for a period of 30 days prior to the vote and a US citizen to be eligible to vote.

The Wayland-Cohocton Teachers Association Chicken BBQ is quickly approaching. Presale tickets are available through Thursday, March 17th through the school website or by emailing your child's teacher. Tickets are $12 each and the BBQ is March 29th with pickup beginning at 3:45 pm. Proceeds support the Teachers Association programs in the school and community.

Wayland-Cohocton students will come home today (Friday, March 4) with free COVID-19 home test kits. Thee kits are for families to use at their discretion when needed. They were provided to the district through other government sources and so we are passing them on to families. If you have questions regarding your child's health or COVID-19 information, please contact your child's school nurse. If you or someone you know in the community is in need of a test kit, please reach out to the district as we have more available kits.

With the Spring-sport season quickly approaching, we are now accepting registrations! Please visit our Athletics tab and find "Athletics Team Registration" for links on registering athletes. Spring sports officially begin for JV and Varsity teams on March 14th and on March 28th for Modified teams, so don't delay!

WC HS School Families: Your high school child will come home today with a free COVID-19 Home Test Kit. This kit is for your family's use when or if you need to use it. They are to be used at your discretion. Please check with your child when they arrive home. These kits were given to the school and so we are passing them on to all of our families. Kits for the other buildings will be sent home some time this week. If you have COVID-19 related questions, please contact your child's school nurse.

Due to weather conditions predicted over the next 24 hours, Wayland-Cohocton will be closed for classes and all activities on Friday, February 4, 2022. Please keep safe.

All Wayland-Cohocton after school activities are cancelled for Thursday, February 3. High School and Middle School students will be dismissed at 2:10 p.m. in order to give the buses time to return for the 3:30 p.m. dismissal. Dismissal for Elementary and Prekindergarten students will remain the same. All activities on campus for the evening are cancelled.

Wayland-Cohocton will be closed on Tuesday, January 18th due to weather. All extracurricular activities and athletics are also cancelled. Please keep safe and healthy.

WC Families - If you registered to pick-up a free COVID-19 test kit for your child(ren), remember pick-up time for today, Thursday, January 6 is 5-6 p.m. If you have not registered and would like to do so, please see the email sent to you earlier this week. Please check your email for pick up locations (alphabetically by family name).

Today, December 7 is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. The Wayland-Cohocton flags have been lowered to half-mast in honor of this remembrance. The district thanks the student that brought this to its attention.

Due to extenuating circumstances, the Wayland-Cohocton High School (9-12) Band Holiday Concert scheduled for Thursday, December 9th is being rescheduled for Wednesday, December 15th at 7:00pm. This concert will be open to the public and everyone must wear a mask and social distance between groups. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for understanding. Our student musicians hope to see you on December 15th!

Wayland-Cohocton is currently experiencing issues with its bulk email and communication system. Please check the school's website for information on Wednesday's late arrival, updated winter concert information and this week's performance of Robin Hood and His Merry Men. We are working on the issue and hope to have it resolved quickly. Information can be found under NEWS.11

WC Theater Group's production of Robin Hood and His Merry Men will have limited seating. Each participating student will receive four tickets for each performance to share with family and friends. WCCS apologizes that this performance cannot be open to the public at this time. This event will not be live-streamed.

Don't forget tonight's Musical Production at 6:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center: All Together Now! is a musical revue and features songs from MI's beloved catalogue if musicals including Annie, Come From Away, Disney's Frozen, Disney's Beauty and the Best, Little Shop of Horros, Godspell, Hairspray, Disney and Cameron MackIntosh's Mary Poppins, Junie B. Jones the Musical and Newsies!
