Elementary Eagle Families, Our school district will be closed Wednesday, November 25th- Friday, November 27th for the Thanksgiving holiday. Below you will find helpful information on how to celebrate a safe Thanksgiving [Report from National Association of Elementary School Principals]. Many families across the nation will be celebrating Thanksgiving next week with their loved ones. However, with cases of coronavirus surging across the U.S., there is still a need to exercise caution around the holidays. Fortunately, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control provides detailed guidelines and sharable resources to help families understand and limit their risk of spreading coronavirus: *Celebrating Thanksgiving [English]: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/daily-life-coping/everyone_can_make_thanksgiving_safer.html.pdf *Consider Other Thanksgiving Activities [English]: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/daily-life-coping/consider_other_thanksgiving_activities.html.pdf *Celebrating Thanksgiving & Consider Other Thanksgiving Activities [Español]: https://espanol.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/holidays/thanksgiving.html *Celebrating Thanksgiving & Considering Other Thanksgiving Activities [Accessible]: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/holidays/thanksgiving.html We hope that you and your family enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday although the way we celebrate family and our time "together" might look different than what is typical amid our global pandemic. Your effort to celebrate safely will help us keep our doors open for in-person learning. Sincerely, Theresa A. Carhart Adam R. Button Elementary Principals

Happy first day of school, elementary eagle families! We are noticing that many off our families are off to a great start rocking the Remote Learning Daily Check-ins! Remember this attendance check in is for all students who are remote learning (100% Remote or Remote Days for Hybrid-Enrolled Students). When students are in person learning, we will take attendance using SchoolTool. If you have multiple elementary students in your household who are in different grade levels, please be sure to use the appropriate grade level attendance link for each of your students. You should not submit all your students' attendance information using the same form. We need to have attendance reported on the correct grade level in order to effectively and efficiently make student attendance in our SchoolTool system. Remote Learning Check-in Links: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15GUKCWNcyj6bwy_Gw0R9KoA8eWsvE2Q8/view?usp=sharing Cohocton Elementary School will be monitoring PreK attendance and Wayland Elementary School will be monitoring K-4 attendance each school day. Thank you so much for your help! Theresa Carhart Adam Button Wayland-Cohocton Elementary School Principals

Parents: Children should have their own masks/face coverings for school. School will provide masks/face coverings if a child does not have one when they arrive. They will most likely be the disposable style. (This is a clarification as the district has received many inquiries.)

School supplies are being purchased by the school. Families need only to provide sneakers and maybe a backpack. Lockers will not be used in the upper levels for the first few weeks. If you have specific questions regarding supplies/lockers please contact your child's building office.

This morning an email was sent out to all elementary families that was intended for PreK families. K-4 Elementary families can ignore the email about PreK Programming. We are sorry for the mistake. We know there has been a great deal of communication to keep track of and we are sorry for adding to your inboxes unnecessarily.

Due to recent restrictions to Google Meet, the district is emailing a new link via Zoom for tonight’s virtual meeting for families regarding opening. The meeting officially begins at 8 p.m. However, families can begin logging in at 7:45 p.m. You will need to wait until you are “admitted”. We are sorry for the inconvenience. (WC families will receive the email.)
