Wayland Elementary reminds families to complete the Health Portal each morning before arriving. Monday morning there were some technical issues, however, 173 students did not complete the app and therefore 173 temps had to be taken at school. The school does not have the capacity to monitor at this rate. Please be certain the APP is complete before the bus or departhing for school. Thank you: Portal Link: https://www.studentehr.com/

Dear Wayland-Cohocton Elementary Families, Last night our Superintendent, Eileen Feinman, sent a communication indicating that we were going to move to remote learning this coming week (Monday, December 21- Wednesday, December 23). Our third grade students began this journey a week ago and will continue doing so until the start of their holiday break (Thursday, December 24). To help the rest of our grade levels prepare for the days ahead, I wanted to send out the original communication our district sent in mid- November in the event we needed to shift to 100% Remote Instruction. Click on the web link below and review the helpful document entitled, "Family Information: Helpful Parent Videos & 100% Remote Plan highlights. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_moKVMXMofQILXp0TP1pnzH6uhdAk788/view?usp=sharing We know that our families and staff want to make sure our students receive the very best possible learning opportunities despite the challenges that this global pandemic is causing us. Please know our teachers and staff will be working very hard in a short period of time to shift our approach to meet your child's learning needs given the current circumstance. We know you are shifting things at home in a quick turnaround time as well and we want to say, "THANK YOU!" During our shift to 100% Remote Instruction, look to your child's teacher and service providers to provide a learning schedule and instructional activities/resources. Our Remote Learning Support Center Staff will work to set up virtual learning support for students who typically attend on Monday/Tuesday. Please know that on days your child would typically learn in person, your child's teaching team is working to schedule as much 'live' instruction or learning support as is possible using Google Meets. The level of this type of support will vary. Your child's teacher will let you know when they are able to start this and what your child's learning schedule will look like. As we move ahead, please be sure to keep these tidbits in mind: • All students are required to participate in daily instruction to include 'live' instruction as part of their schooling unless not in attendance due to being sick. Anything you can do to ensure your child has a location to learn that is as free from distraction as possible will be a great help! • We will continue to use ClassDojo as a platform for communication and instruction (up to grade 3). Google Classroom will continue to be used as a learning platform for students in grade 4. For Pre-K, look to the learning materials your child's teacher already sent home for the week. • Regardless of which Cohort your child is in, please complete the Remote Check in for each of your children Monday-Wednesday by 9 a.m. Use the appropriate link for each child (Pre-K thru Grade 4): https://drive.google.com/file/d/15GUKCWNcyj6bwy_Gw0R9KoA8eWsvE2Q8/view?usp=sharing • Daily submission of the health survey should be completed for each hybrid learner by 9 a.m., regardless of Cohort using the Snap Health Portal (web link: https://www.studentehr.com/). Hang in there, eagle families. We know this has not made things easier on you. The important thing to remember is to keep open communication between home and school, so we can help one another through this! #EagleStrong! Theresa A. Carhart Principal
