Athletic Award Recipients

On June 9 the Wayland-Cohocton Athletic Department celebrated the recipients of four major athletic awards typically given during the annual Athletic Awards Ceremony. This year’s celebration was held outside of the high school entrance and cooperated with COVID-19 social distancing requirements. 

Athletic Director Jim Brownell and High School Principal Josie Steiner presented the awards to students. Congratulations to each of these athletes and good luck on your future endeavors. 

“We, the coaches of Wayland-Cohocton, are proud of all of you excelling both in the classroom and on the field of play,” said AD Brownell. “Please stay safe during these challenging times, and congratulations!” 

Junior Athletic Achievement Award: This award is presented to the junior class student athletes who have shown a commitment to excel both in the classroom and on the field of play. Recipients are Hannah Fairbrother and Jaden Rocha

Rich Martello Ability and Sportsmanship Award: This award is presented to the individuals that work hard everyday in practice and during contests to get the most out of their ability, while consistently displaying good sportsmanship. Recipients are Kayden Feinman and James Carman

Athletes of the Year Award: This award is presented to the student athletes who have excelled in all of their sports during the 2019-2020 school year. Recipients are Karissa Bosh and DeAndre Green

Four-year Contribution Award: This award honors the student athletes who have dedicated their high school careers to making themselves, their teammates and their teams the best that they can be. Recipients are Jordyn Quackenbush and Cameron Huber
