On Friday, May 30th, the Wayland-Cohocton Senior Class will take part in the annual DWI Awareness Day, an impactful event designed to educate students about the consequences of impaired driving.
The day will begin with a reenactment on Woodhams Road, featuring local emergency personnel, public safety agencies, and other organizations. This realistic simulation is a critical learning experience, and as such, access to the area will be limited to those directly involved in the event. Only those students, school personnel and emergency responders participating in the event will be allowed to the location.
After the reenactment, students will return to campus for a picnic and outdoor activities, continuing the day’s focus on awareness and reflection. The event will conclude with a first-person impact presentation in the LGI, where students will hear directly from someone affected by a DWI-related incident.
Wayland-Cohocton Central School District is proud to offer this meaningful experience and appreciates the support of our community members and organizations in making it possible for our students.
