The Wayland-Cohocton Chapter of the National Honor Society proudly held its annual induction ceremony on October 16th in the Performing Arts Center, celebrating academic excellence, leadership, service, and character with all the traditional pomp and circumstance the occasion deserves.

Chapter Advisors Beth Gibbs and Chelsea Owens opened the evening with warm words of welcome before turning the program over to student leaders. Lyla Drum, Naava Gibson, and Skylar Richardson introduced the senior inductees, while Taylor Richardson and Natalie Williamson presented the juniors. Together, these chapter officers led the presentation of all new members.

The officers also shared the meaning and traditions behind the National Honor Society’s four pillars:

  • Leadership – presented by Naava Gibson, President

  • Scholarship – presented by Lyla Drum, Vice President

  • Service – presented by Skylar Richardson, Secretary

  • Character – presented by Natalie Williamson, Treasurer

Guest speaker Mrs. Jennifer Billotte offered an inspiring keynote address, followed by the presentation of membership cards, pins, and honor cords by Dr. Eileen Feinman. The evening concluded with the recitation of the National Honor Society Pledge and closing remarks from Mrs. Gibbs and Mrs. Owens.
