Wayland, NY – The Wayland-Cohocton Hall of Fame Basketball Showcase is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025, bringing a full day of high school basketball action to the community. The event features both boys and girls games and is dedicated to honoring the legacy of a respected local figure. Admission to the showcase is $5 and supports the Hall of Fame recognition and events. The community is encouraged to come out and enjoy a great day of basketball at the Wayland-Cohocton Field House!
Showcase Schedule
A full day of exciting basketball is planned for the community:
Noon (12pm): Corning vs Olean (Boys Basketball)
1:30 pm: Wayland-Cohocton vs Elba (Boys Basketball)
3 pm: Canisteo-Greenwood vs Elba (Girls Basketball)
4:45 pm: Hornell vs Canisteo Greenwood (Boys Basketball)
6:15 pm: Honeoye vs York (Boys Basketball)

In Memory of Floyd Farley
The 2025 Showcase is dedicated in memory of Floyd Farley, a longtime Steuben County Basketball referee and fan.
Floyd Farley was a 1956 graduate of Alfred-Almond Central School.
He served in the US Army from 1958-1960.
After his military service, he became a basketball referee in Steuben County for 33 years.
He was the first official from Steuben County to officiate a game at the New York State Public High School Basketball Tournament in Glens Falls, NY.
He was a lifetime member of IAABO Board #156.
Farley was a mentor to numerous young officials, providing guidance and advice.
The Floyd P. Farley Sportsmanship Award has been given for the past 48 years to the Steuben County School demonstrating the best sportsmanship.
The community welcomes his wife, Betsey Farley, daughter and son-in-law Kelly & Dean Wightman, grandson Patrick Wightman & family, and members of IAABO Boards #60 and #156 to the event.
2026 Hall of Fame Inductees
The event will also recognize the upcoming 2026 Wayland-Cohocton Hall of Fame Inductees. Their induction ceremony is scheduled for January 23, 2026.
