Robert Toland, Coordinator of Athletics, Fitness and Aquatics Wayland-Cohocton is pleased to announce that Robert Toland has been appointed as Coordinator of Athletics, Fitness and Aquatics. Bob has been with the district five years, now entering his sixth year. During the past five years, he was a member of the math department primarily as the Algebra II teacher. He also taught several Math Lab classes, AIS Math and Math 2 in The Academy. In addition to teaching math, Bob has coached many teams across all three seasons. He has coached varsity football as an assistant, junior varsity girls basketball as the head coach, and modified baseball as the head coach.

“My goals for the fall are to get our sports teams back to “normal” and increase participation at all levels,” said Mr. Toland. “Sports were significantly impacted by the COVID pandemic and, to some degree, continue to be today. It is my hope that students are eager to return to the fall months with a renewed passion for sports. By increasing numbers and participation, our teams are more likely to experience the successes and joys that come with athletics.”

Bob says his primary role as Coordinator of Athletics, Fitness and Aquatics is to provide Wayland-Cohocton students and members of the surrounding communities with an exceptional experience, top-notch facilities, and promising opportunities through athletics.

“I feel my role is to build upon the great tradition in place at Wayland-Cohocton while also getting our students excited about making Wayland-Cohocton Athletics successful across all sports,” added Mr. Toland.

Bob is a 2009 graduate of St. John Fisher College where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Adolescent Education in the Field of Mathematics. In 2016 he earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Walden University and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University.
