Summer meals will once again be available to all individuals 18 years of age and under this summer, free of charge and without any paperwork to complete. The program will run July 7th to August 7th. Breakfast will be served from 8 am to 9 am. Lunch will be served from 11 am to noon. All meals will be served in the Middle School Cafeteria. Meals must be consumed in the cafeteria. Adults are welcome to accompany any youth. Also, youth of an appropriate age are welcome to come without an adult. Franklin was found reading his favorite book in an open courtyard at Wayland-Cohocton this morning. He was glad to see the sun out and to read about what it's like to go to school. The WC Elementary staff helped Franklin find his way back to a safe area near the school pond. Thanks for visiting Franklin!
Don’t forget the deadline to register for the summer Enrichment program (grades K-7) is June 11th. You can register online. or check your email for more information. Any child in grades k-7 residing in the district is eligible. There are still available slots. Today’s Wayland-Cohocton Youth Track Club for grades 1-6 will be relocated to the High School Field House. Families will be able to sign their students out in the foyer of the Field House. Due to spacing, there will not be room for parents to watch. Thank you for your understanding.
Wayland-Cohocton honors and remembers on this Memorial Day, May 26th. Memorial Day, observed on the last Monday of May, is a solemn national holiday in the United States dedicated to honoring and remembering the deceased men and women who served in the U.S. military. It is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by these individuals and to show gratitude for their service. Originally called Decoration Day, Memorial Day began as a way to decorate the graves of Civil War soldiers with flowers. Over time, it evolved to honor all those who have died in service to the country, both in peacetime and during wartime.
YOUTH TRACK ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to the weather expectation for tomorrow the youth track program is cancelled for Wednesday, May 21st. The final date will still be May 28th, incluidng competitions amongst grade levels.
