
After consulting with the power company, unfortunately they cannot give us a time frame as to when power will be restored and as a result we are calling an emergency day. Middle school students will be given breakfast and then Middle and high Students will be released to the buses at 8:30 am. If you would prefer to pick up your student please come to the middle school or high school office to pick up your student. If your middle school child should not be dropped off at home, please contact the middle school office as soon as possible. There will be no elementary or prekindergarten classes today either.

Wayland-Cohocton Middle School students are entering the building. Fifth and sixth grade will go to the cafeteria and seventh and eighth grade will go to the gymnasium. Buses have not gone out for the elementary school. We will continue to update you as we have more informstion regarding elementary school.

Further clarification on power issues at WC Wayland Campus: Wayland-Cohocton High School is currently fully operational on a generator and students will be entering the school. The Middle School will be held on buses for a short time while the situation is reviewed. Information will be forthcoming regarding Elementary School.

Wayland-Cohocton Central School is currently without power. The district suspects it to be a brown out and will be holding students on the buses for a while we try to rectify the situation. We will update you further when we know more.

Wayland-Cohocton Bus #53 is running about 20 minutes late.

The WC High School PageTurners team came from behind to take first place in its most recent competition! This victory allowed the team to advance to regionals in a few weeks. Congratulations!

Elementary students are reminded that next week's spirit week will focus on Read Across America themes! We hope you will join us for some dog-gone fun!


Wayland-Cohocton Central School hosted the high school PageTurners competition today, Friday, February 29th in the Performing Arts Center. This is the second competition this year for these students. Students are quizzed on literature they have read from a reading list.



Wayland-Cohocton will host the Genesee Valley Schol Music Association All-County Festival III on Friday and Saturday, March 1st and 2nd. Students from around the region will rehearse on Friday and Saturday and offer a concert at the Performing Arts Center on the Wayland campus at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 2nd. The concert is free and open to the public. It will feature outstanding instrumentalists in the Senior High Band and incredible vocalists in the Elementary Chorus. Wayland-Cohocton is proud to host this event for 2024.


Come to the College and Career Fair on March 6th! Students, parents, and graduates are welcome to come and network with local employers, discuss college degrees and microcredentials. Discover your future!


Celebrate the Arts at Wayland-Cohocton throughout the month of March!


Wayland-Cohocton families are reminded that on Friday, February 16th, all students will be dismissed 15 minutes early from school. This is part of a required annual go-home drill. An email notice was sent to all families earlier this month. If you have questions, please contact your child's school office during regular school hours. Thank you.

WC Third and Fourth Grade families are reminded that there is no Third/Fourth Grade Chorus tomorrow, Thursday, February 15th. Thank you.

Hello spring sports families! Registrations are now open for JV and varsity level sports offered this coming spring season. Find our "athletic team registrations" page in the athletics tab on our district website to get your child registered for baseball, softball, boys tennis, golf, or track and field. Remember, use existing accounts and reach out with questions along the way.
Modified registrations will be open on March 11th, so be patient for those offerings to show up.
We are looking forward to seeing our rosters fill up with our many talented student-athletes!

WCCS Middle School Families: There are a number of slots open, particularly to middle school students, in the Wayland-Cohocton STELLAR After School program. The program runs 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and is free to Wayland-Cohocton families with students in grades two through eighth.
