The recipient of the High School Golden Eagle Award for October 23rd was Gwen Hargrave! Gwen is at it again this year. She is voluntarily giving up a study hall each day to help tutor students who need help in math. When she is not tutoring, Gwen is willing to help with any task that is asked of her because she would rather be productive with her time than sit idly in a study hall. Your help is appreciated Gwen, thank you!

Students in Mr. Flower's High School American Military History course at Wayland-Cohocton constructed a field of flags in honor of Veterans’ Day in front of the Wayland campus. Every flag on the field represents a donation and honors a Veteran.
“It is our honor and duty to remember the sacrifices that so many service members have made for the freedoms that we are privileged to enjoy every day in this country,” said Mr. Flower. “We are pleased to create this field of flags as a small token of our appreciation for all of the sacrifices that veterans have made to keep our nation protected and free.”
The students encourage the community to visit the field in the front yard and remember a veteran who has served this country. It is because of veterans’ self-sacrifices and willingness to defend this nation, that this country, and our freedom exists today. The class thanks the community members who participated for their generosity and donations to the Disabled American Veterans charity.
